Power game case study in this research note is based on my 35 year experience to work for a General Construction Firm which is listed on the first board of Tokyo Stock Exchange Market. Ceremony, custom and tradition of Power practice vary in each company office, yet the “Dramatizing each own position in the organization” through Power game is common for workers in any work office. While workers learn tradition/atmosphere/mission of the company, they are getting ready for exercising such Power.
When workers have to get employed and work without work incentive just in order to make a living, working office may be uncomfortable and means nothing but just a working place. However, for those who practice Power game, the office is a sphere with limitless potentials and possibilities. If workers modify their work place with positive feeling and strategy, the work office can be a site as if shogi board game, with full of strategic transactions (tactics). The office is the place where workers spend at least 7-10 hours a day, and it ought to be where good/bad luck, opportunities/ risk, and victory/defeat(promotion/demotion, salary increase/reduction) must be repeatedly evolving at all times.
