In this paper, I will focus on the issue of commodidification of Yunnan ethnic cultures, one of China’s multi-ethnic frontiers. Since the beginning of the open-door policy, ethnic minorities in Yunnan province have been the target of tourism development. Their utilization as cultural resources for profit has accelerated in aspects of local history, ethnic customs and traditional cultures. Recent is a case in point interest in ethnic dances as a cultural tool for show business. I examine the relationship between cultural resources and tourism entertainment by organizing and analyzing materials related to JIXIN Banquet Dance Performance(Jixin Yanwu 吉鑫宴舞).
