We did interview researches and a questionnaire survey at tourism faculties in the U.S. and have found the differences of internship system between Japan and the U.S.
In the U.S., tourism internship is located as the connective intermediation of a university student and a company/organization by which he is employed after graduated. In Japan, internship has only a function to help finding a future direction for a university student after graduated. We tried to study how to strengthen the tourism internship functions in career guidance for Japanese universities.
