Higher education in China has been operating under several laws and government ordinances such as “People’s Republic of China Higher Education Act”. These laws and ordinances regulate the standards for establishing universities, the curriculums, faculty development, teacher evaluation and quality of education.
The academic societies for higher education are China Association of Higher Education and local societies. About 15,000 articles are published every year. Research exchanges on college physical education are continuing in both the subcommittee about physical education of CAHE and China Sport Science Society.
The “Ordinance of Physical Education in Schools” regulates that colleges must have physical education classes in the first and second years. Also, “Syllabus of General Physical Education for Institutions of Higher Learning” regulates the goals of education, class size, equipment, and evaluation. The committee of college physical education in Ministry of Education makes standards about education and holds seminars for teachers.
