<datacite:description descriptionType="Abstract">Generally speaking, language and culture are closely related. The expressions in a certain are still more closely related to the specific culture in the area where the language is used. It is even a casual relation between them. For example, the honorific expressions shared by both Chinese and Japanese have a thousand and one links with Confucianism and the living culture which has originated from it. The present treaties, starting from the human relationship based on the Confucian culture, has analysed the characteristics of the honorific expressions in the two languages, discussed their similarities and differences, and demonstrated the relations between honorific expressions and the Confucian culture. On the basis of the evolution of the history and human values, the treaties has also examined the development and change of the honorific expressions in the two language and from the theoretical and practical point of view put forward some suggestions for the Japanese and Chinese language teaching.</datacite:description>
