The purpose of this study is to clarify university graduates' experiences of and consciousness regarding supporting university sports. Accordingly, a questionnaire survey was conducted targeting the people who had graduated from a university or a junior college from 1970 through 2014, and 900 men and 900 women responded. The survey results are as follows: 1) Among the respondents, 32.4% of men and 21.8% of women replied that they could sing the school song and rooters’ song of their alma maters. 2) Further, 30.9% of men and 17.2% of women reported having supported the athletic clubs of their alma maters. 3) Approximately 50.6% of men and 32.4% of women expected the achievements of the athletic clubs of their alma maters. 4) For the three aforementioned questions, more men than women responded. In addition, the number of graduates who participated in extracurricular activities was more than that of the graduates who did not participate.
