J. Soc. Psychiat. 18-4). Emotional disorders observed typically among unadjusted delinquents, and group reference or contagion of subculture observed typically among socialized delinquents, are regarded as dualistic causal factors, although the detailed dynamics are varied. Upon such dual etiology we find the deepening process of pathology in which emotional disorders and group references interact with each other. In this article, the author has tried to find the aspects of such dualistic causal dynamics and their interacting process in other socially pathological phenomena such as suicide, drug addiction, sexual deviations, and at the same time has tried to suggest an integrative theory of social pathology.
