多チャンネル化と放送の「多様性」に関する一考察：地上波放送およびBS、CS の内容分析調査 A Study of Diversity in Broadcasting in the Multichannel Age : Content Analysis of TV Programming タチャンネルカ ト ホウソウ ノ タヨウセイ ニ カンスル イチコウサツ チジョウハ ホウソウ オヨビ BS　CS ノ ナイヨウ ブンセキ チョウサ 日吉, 昭彦 In the latest issue of this bulletin, we reported the results of quantitative content analysis which examined “diversity” in Japanese broadcasting. In this paper, we’ll report the data from the same survey more in detail. Content analysis was conducted on the samples which were collected from 70 television channels in broadcasting of terrestrial and satellite, communication satellite, in December 2011, and 2016 samples of program moments were randomly chosen. Coders examined program genres, portrayal of character roles, information of text on screen and program’s theme in each program moments. First, we analyzed how the program content differed in each time period, and it is obvious that there is less diversity especially in the morning period. “Vertical diversity” was not found in each program. Second, we showed the detailed data about portrayal of occupational roles. The result implies that the representation of TV program lacks in reality. Finally, we visually displayed the relevance of all channels and coding categories by using multiple correspondent analysis.
