南米におけるLGBTI の現状と米州人権委員会の活動 Current Status of LGBTI in South America and Support Activities for LGBTI People by the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights 齊藤, 功高 The activities by the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights are diverse. It accepts human rights abuses from LGBTI people through a petition, protects human rights by responding to them, and conducts other educational activities to protect LGBTI people’s human rights. South American countries have put in place LGBTI’s law on human rights protection, but there are still a number of cases of prejudice against LGBTI people that killings and violence will continue. Under these circumstances, the activities by the Commission have become very important. I will consider the contents as follows: 1. The current situation of LGBTI people in South American countries, 2. Commission’s trial on petitions, 3. Precautionary measures by the Commission, 4.
