          <dc:description>In this paper, changes in educational language policy in Malaysia are surveyed first. Then, the process and the actual condition of English as a language of instruction in the sciences and mathematics, the most important aspect of this reform, are clarified. Various subjects in it are analyzed and considered.
This paper also considers the state of "immersion education", a method employed even in Japan in recent years, using languages other than mother tongue. Its introduction is being planned and promoted gradually based on the example of Malaysia.</dc:description>
