Study 1 examined the characteristics of stress in 294 students at a public middle school. Study 2 examined the relationship between stress and attitudes towards bullying. Study 3 involved a semi-structured interview of 16 students who experienced bullying in elementary school and investigated their psychological state upon initial enrollment in middle school. Results were as follws: Study 1 identified \"academics\" as the biggest stressor in school. Study 2 suggested that \"students who leave their answer sheets blank\" may attack others as a way to relieve stress. \"Third parties/bystanders\" were found to have difficulty consulting teachers and friends about alleviating stress. This group might indirectly complicit in bullying. Study 3 revealed that victims of bullying in elementary school subsequently suffered from aftereffects. However, students with adequate parental support suffered fewer
