| 内容記述 | The present investigation aimed to construct a revised Japanese version of Verbalizer-Visualizer Questionnaire (VVQ-R) and to explore the validity of its two subscales--the Verbalizer Scale and the Visualizer Scale. In study 1, a factor analysis with iterations and a varimax rotation was performed on a 38-item questionnaire. The obtained factor structure consisted of 3 factors, two of which selectively represented the verbalizer dimension and visualizer dimension. The resulted Verbalizer Scale and Visualizer Scale were made up of 11 items and 9 items, respectively. Study 2 examined the relationship of the two scales of VVQ-R to vividness of visual imagery. The score of Visualizer Scale was significantly correlated to the vividness score, but that of Verbalizer Scale was not. In study 3, multiple regression analyses were conducted to show how well the score of the two scales predict the performance on verbal tasks and visual tasks. The Verbalizer score was found to be predictive of the performance on a verbal task involving memory. The Visualizer score failed to predict the visual task performance although the score showed a strong predictive power concerning the performance on some verbal tasks. These resuls were interpreted to provide a support to the validity of Verbalizer Scale, but no support to that of Visualizer Scale. | |||||||||||||
