| 内容記述 | To investigate nursing home staff's opinions toward social welfare, the respondents were asked to read the book titled "HUMAN SERVICE : ALBUM FOR WELL LIFE" written by this author, and to present descriptions of their impressions about the book. All 25 staff of one nursing home excluding the chief and the vice-chief cooperated with this investigation. Sixteen care workers, 1 social worker, 1 counselor, 1 nurse, 1 secretary, 1 dietition and 4 cooks were included. The descriptions were analysed according to criteria. A1: viewpoint as social or care worker A2: viewpoint from personal experience B : self-confidence in their own work C : their finding of new informations by reading D : their analysis of or criticism to social condition E : expression of their own theories Most staff express their energetic opinions of freeing closedness, building the constructive institution within community, and respecting needs of aged persons institutionalized. Following sentence written by a care staff is symbolic of the problems presented. "Expectation what one care worker can do is so big. Must be able to love like God, have a healthy and strong body like iron, be a philosopher, be a nurse with spirit like Florence Nightingale, have knowlege about nutrition, do washing and cleaning, all these things are expected of care staff of nursing homes for aged persons." She continues, "What we must do to take care of the aged persons institutionalized without our self-sacrifices?" She and some staff become aware of necessity of iterdisciplinary approach, but they know that it is difficult to change the present circumstances. Although most staff feel some contradictions. |
