The Raglan Day Centre in London was originally intended to provide relif for families suffering stress and in need of temporary help in, or a temporary break from, caring for an elderly relative suffering from cunfusion, incontinence, personality difficulties, etc. However, demand has been for regular attendance. Thus, the centre seeks to offer a caring and protective environment in respose to this demand. The users of the service are elderly people who suffer from dementia or mental illness. The centre are facilities for about 30 people and is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p. m. for five days per week.\nThe typical terminal care is in gerontro-psychiatric hospital. Copenhagen has 5 such hospitals. RINGBO is the first one. There are places for about 280 patients divided into 12 departments. During 5 years, 370 patients died and 37 were sent home. This means that the patients stay at the hospital for 3 years in average.
