| 内容記述 | I have clarified the following points about social attitudes toward the disabled through my recent papers. 1. Mass-communication shows democratic attitudes toward the handicapped persons and states the principles about the welfare for them, while it tends not to clarify the problems related to their rights such as that parents kill their own children. From this point of view, mass-communication lacks consistency. 2. College students who hope to become school theachers in the future show two typical attitudes at the level of image, idea and will. Some of them have dark and heavy image and the others have healthy and humanistic image. Some have a negative idea and the others a positive one. Some have the will to educate the handicapped and the others do not. 3. High school students who hope to major in social welfare in the future have two different attitudes. One group takes the case as welfare, and other as charity. 4. While each student majoring in social walfare respects humanity, life and absolute value, he actually judges by relative value. \nJudging from four points above, we can conclude that there are both contradiction and conflict in social attitudes toward the disabled. On the other hand, attitudes of the handicapped toward society, are very realistic. They ask for the independent living, that is, they want to participate in society and share the joy and activity of daily life. In order to realize their independent living, it is necessary to prepare services to meet their needs such as attendants to them, housekeeping, suitable housing and transportation. As their demands start from real life, their attitudes toward society are concrete rather than idealistic. The nonhandicapped people have the idea on the basis of conjecture about the handicapped, while the latter sets up demands to society for their real life. At first, we must orient our idea to humanistic and social ones, and secondly make efforts to make the nonhandicapped in their idea agree with demands of the handicapped. |
