| 内容記述 | This paper is an attempt to examine emotion from the standpoint of the cognitive theory, and from that of the schema theory in particular. A schema is something that contains, besides mere conceptual knowledge, all information concerning a given concept. Congnition is a process whereby information is constructively selected ultimately to form an interpretation of an object. A schema functions then in such a way as to give rise to anticipations of future events and information. Occurring when an anticipation proves false and the responsible schema must be relinquished, emotion can be defined as a reaction of "unexpectedness," which seeks to appease itself by the establishment of a new, more suitable schema. Insofar as a new schema conforms to a given subject's system and maintains and reinforces it, "pleasure" will be experienced by the subject. A discordant new schema which threatens to destroy part or the whole of a subject's system will be felt as "unpleasant." |
