| 内容記述 | It is assumed that local food cultures have the wisdom of edible plants that can be utilized in times of famine. In order to find out to what extent the wisdom has been passed down to the present day, two types of surveys were conducted targeting residents of the Tarusawa district of Ninohe City, Iwate Prefecture. In Study 1, survey participants were asked to list the non-cultivated plants eaten on a daily basis, and 87 species of plants were listed. For Study 2, photographs of the plants listed in the Famine Food Guidance were presented to the survey participants, and they were asked to point out whether each one of the plants were eaten or used by the local population today. Of the 165 herbaceous species presented, 41.8% were recognized and 8.5% were edible. Of the 62 species of woody plants presented, 62.9% were recognized and 22.6% were edible. The results show the wisdom of edible plants that can be utilized in times of famine has been passed down to today to some extent. | |||||||||||||
