| 内容記述 | The current status and issues related to wellness tourism were examined with regard to certification and commendation systems run by public authorities and industry associations, which are divided into three categories: facilities, instructors and programs. Regarding facilities, the number of facilities certified under the certification systems established from the policies of the Ministry of Health, Labor, and Welfare (MHLW) and the Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry (METI) is small, at around 20 facilities each. On the other hand, 61 places have been certified under the forest therapy certification system. These certification systems require that facilities have instructors and other staff. To qualify for these qualifications, they must attend workshops and correspondence courses and pass certification exams. It can be concluded that the training and accreditation of experts is properly conducted. One certification system for programs is the Health Tourism Certification System, which evaluates tourism products from a health perspective. This certification system was established by a policy of the Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry. There are 42 certified programs. The websites operated by the State and its external organizations for the facilities and programs are neither informative nor attractive. These need to be improved and new publicity activities are needed. A website survey and site visits were conducted on wellness tourism accommodation and programs about the 'adequacy of the official website and local information provision' and the 'adequacy of facilities and equipment and professional staff'. The facilities and services visited included one spa-based health promotion facility, one health tourism program, two forest therapy bases and six others. The facilities and programs that had been accredited were well informed and appropriate, and had adequate facilities, equipment, and professional staff. The other facilities were also only good facilities, with adequate information and facilities and equipment. |
