| 内容記述 | This paper aims to develop a training program to enhance the qualities and abilities of supervisors, a task that the authors have undertaken based on their expertise and experience. In this endeavor, the authors have considered the results of a survey on the perceptions of elementary school principals, junior high school principals, and supervisors of the board of education regarding the qualities and abilities of guidance counselors. When developing a training program, the authors believe that the key to success lies in a comprehensive understanding of the skills and abilities required of a supervisor. This includes a wide range of skills such as "specialization in subjects, ability to provide guidance and advice, " "communication skills," "knowledge and practical skills related to curriculum organization," "information processing ability," and organizational response skills such as reporting, contacting, and consulting. The authors also emphasize the importance of developing the qualities and abilities that they rank low in the qualities and abilities of a guidance director, namely "financial sense and practical ability, such as budgeting," "knowledge and practical ability regarding school management," "judgment," "management ability," and "ability to respond to accidents." The development of the training program was guided by the results of a thorough survey on the perceptions of elementary school principals, junior high school principals, and supervisors themselves of the board of education and also drew from the Tokyo Metropolitan Teachers' Training Center (2024), Kanagawa Prefectural Education Center (2024), and Yokohama National University Graduate School of Education and Kanagawa Prefectural Education Center (2023). Implementing the developed training program is expected to significantly enhance the essential qualities and abilities required of a guidance counselor. It also promises to improve the qualities and abilities that elementary school principals, junior high school principals, and supervisors of the board of education rank low in, paving the way for a brighter future. |
