内容記述タイプ Abstract
内容記述 The purpose of this essay is to examine the collage works of Yoshiko Okanoue, an artist active in postwar Japan, in the context of Surrealism, and to clarify the qualities of Okanoue's work.
Despite the fact that Okagami's works are considered to be of the nature of surrealist collages, there have been almost no opportunities for Okanoue's works to be treated as the subject of research in Japanese surrealist studies or art history studies. This is due to Okanoue's short production period of seven years, from 1950 to 1957, and to the influence of Shuzo Takiguchi(1903-1979), a highly influential figure in the postwar Japanese avant-garde art movement, who said, "She is not an artist, an influential figure in Japan's postwar avant-garde art movement, who said, "She is not an artist. She is a young lady," as if she regarded her as an amateur rather than an artist; Okanoue's own statement that she was not an artist, which indicated his distance from the art world; and the fact that she did not participate in the Surrealist and other avant-garde art movement groups.
Nevertheless, we believe it is very important to examine Okanoue's works in the context of Surrealism. This is because the collages in Okanoue's works seem to embody the collage concepts of Louis Aragon and André Breton, respectively, when examined in the context of their theories of collage.
First, we analyze Okoanoue's works from a figurative perspective to clarify their nature(Chapter 1), and then draw on Aragon's and Breton's theories of collage to examine the nature of Okanoue's works (Chapters 2 and 3). This will enable us to see the nature of Okanoue's collage works in the context of surrealism, both figuratively and theoretically.
