When we take the step-mother as a representation of negative mother complex, this story would show us the developmental course of a girl under the influence of such a complex. Snow white, a symbol of pure feeling and loving capacity, has experienced loss of true mother, got envy form the step-mother, went through loneliness, worked hard, been persecuted by the evil step-mother, fallen a deep sleep, awoke, and got married with a prince. Each experience has its own symbolical meaning and has contributed for her psychological development from child state to adolescence, from adolescence to a matured woman. For those who are under the strong influence of the negative mother complex, this story would give the clear understanding of the state they get involved in, and also offer the stimulation and encouragement to confront the complex.
