This study surveyed 348 university freshmen (194 males and 154 females) attending two private universities in a metropolitan area. The survey yielded several results. The main reasons individuals became a bully were "imitating another bully," "the victim exhibited characteristic behaviors or attitudes," "relieving frustration," and "to prevent one's self from being bullied." The main reasons individuals were bullied were "interpersonal conflict" and "one's own personality and behavioral characteristics." Of the victims, 80% reported suffering "emotional scars that last a lifetime," "negative effects on one's own personality and behavior," and "distrust of others." Both the bully and his or her victim indicated that they expected school administrators and teachers to solve the problem of bullying. One's level of self-esteem may differ depending on how one perceives the impacts of bullying.}, pages = {155--166}, title = {大学生における過去のいじめ経験に関する質問紙調査 : いじめ経験といじめの捉え方、および自尊感情との関係}, volume = {35}, year = {} }
