The Japanese population is rapidly aging, so research career development among the elderly is crucial. The current study conducted an online survey of 1,000 individuals ages 41 to 70 years. The survey asked about “career adaptability,” which is one component of career development. Career adaptability is contingent upon “flexibility” which refers to an openness to new experiences or changes in one's career. “Planning” refers to planned approach to one's career. Results indicated that individuals in their 40s or 50s.
