In this competitive environment, CATV companies may soon be forced to stop local program production. However, if local programming has a positive effect on CATV subscriptions, it may prove advantageous in this competitive environment. In this study, a CATV company active in local program production in Japan, was chosen for investigation. The topic of the study was whether local program production has a positive effect on subscriptions.
