In the early 1960s MIS began to be utilized in the management fields and rode the crest of the boom, being made much of by top managers. Yet, MIS did not produce so good results in the management fields as was expected. As a result MIS was judged to be non-beneficial and fell into oblivion. In the early 1970s, a new concept appeared in place of the old MIS concept. The new MIS concept is based on a new interpretation of MIS from two angles. From one angle MIS is regarded as a system for rationalization of work and from the other angle it is regarded as a system that supports managers' decision making : the former is called EDPS and the latter, DSS. This papaer describes historical situations until the concepts of EDPS and DSS appeared and differences between these systems. In addtion, this paper discusses how to create DSS and the role DSS plays in the corporate information systems fields.}, pages = {84--98}, title = {企業情報システムにおける意思決定支援システム : その発展・特質・事例について}, volume = {2}, year = {} }
