Some of them are derived from daily administrative routine and closely connected with local geographical information. Many methods exist for the utilization of such urban information stored in the computers.  In this study, the polygonal method ? a formula calling for division of a city into street zones on the basis of the roads and for attributing collected information to each road or street zone ? has been adopted. Urban information collected by this method is stored in a large-scale computer in the form of a CODASYL-type data base.  We have developed this system in cooperation with the Ministry of Construction and named it "Urban Information System" (UIS). A test model is currently under construction in the city of Nishinomiya.}, pages = {14--23}, title = {都市情報システム(UIS)について(第一部)}, volume = {4}, year = {} }
