 note = {In Shakespeare's plays there are many episodes in which a character brings news to another character. In such episodes information about an event, a situation, or the like is communicated to the audience not only by the character who plays the role of the news-deliverer but also by the one who plays that of the news-receiver. However, while the function of the former has been fairly well recognized, that of the latter has been underestimated, or rather almost completely overlooked.
