| 内容記述 | This paper consists of three parts : what is culture? , what is "broadcasting culture" ?, and the cultural changes in "broadcasting culture" . Le Monde, the famous French newspaper, asked when "La Cinque" went bankrupt in 1992, "Is TV 'culture'?" Some may answer "No" ; others , "Yes". Then, what is culture ? As a contrary concept of nature, the concept of culture has a meaning of progress or evolution, but cultural anthropologists remove the meaning containing "value" from the concept of culture, and make it a conceptual apparatus for scientific studies. According to "A Scientific Theory of Culture" by B. Malinowski, culture may be classified as non-material culture, material culture, and institutional culture. "Broadcasting culture, may also be divided into three parts , broadcasting programmes (software), electric waves or machines (hardware), and broadcasting institutions. This whole complex is developing. By technological innovation, the problems of scarcity of electric waves are nearly dissolved, broadcasting by satellite has begun, and VCRs are diffusing rapidly in advanced nations. The "media abundance" by multi-channel policies has extinguished concern at the possible shortage of news and information adequate for modern democracies. There is less public anxiety about monopoly in broadcasting. There are possibilities of creativity, independence, and diversity in a multi-channel "broadcasting culture". The direction of cultural changes may be from writing culture to talking culture ; literacy to orality ; "langue" to "parole" ; logic to dialectic ; enlightening to creative. |
