These news events occurred from October 1992 through January 1993. Using responses to questionnaires, the rate and speed of news diffusion, the media to learn the news, and the personal communication behavior after knowing the news are analysed.\n　All these items of news spread very rapidly and widely. More than 80 percent of respondents learned them directly from mass-media rather than from other people. Fewer than 20 percent of respondents got them through word of mouth communication.
