It might be easily imagined that a lot of damage after the disaster could have been avoided if we had had a radio broadcasting system in those days. In the case of the Great Hanshin Earthquake, this time all kinds of information media ?television, radio, newspaper, telephone, pager, facsmile, mobile phone, computer network, internet system and so on?were used intensively.  The post-disaster society tried to construct more efficent systems of communication using old and/or new media and taking advantage of the quality of each medium. The limitations of each medium under the confused and urgent situation were revealed. Researching media behavior following the Great Hanshin Earthquake, we can get many suggestions for making the most useful and efficeint information system when a great disaster strikes on our society next time.  The purpose of this paper is to analyze how the commercial computer networks (NIFTYServe and ASAHInet, the former is one of the biggest, the later is the smaller one in Japan) and Internet in Japan were used after the earthquake. The conclusion of the research is that the commercial computer networks and Internet were directly helpful not for the sufferers from the disaster but for those around the quake-striken district. People who had relations to the sufferers or the districts make a great use of the information which was provided in the commercial computer networks and Internet.}, pages = {29--54}, title = {阪神大震災とコンピュータ・ネットワーク : インターネット、ニフティサーブ等における震災情報の内容と構造}, volume = {16}, year = {} }
