But the circumstances have totally changed after the great reccession and the technogolical innovation attacked it in early 1990's. Japanese software industry is composed of many small companies with hierarchical structure. Small companies without capability to cope with environmental change lost clients and went down. In this paper the results of the panel survey of software companies conducted in March 1996 to make clear the impacts of economical and technological change in this 5 years are reviewed.
