Content analysis was conducted on the samples which were collected from 70 television channels in broadcasting of terrestrial and satellite, communication satellite, in December 2011, and 2,016 samples of program moments were andomly chosen. In this paper, we’ll report the data on qualitative evaluation of television’s representation. All the program moments collected by content analysis were evaluated by 4 coders, using original 17 rating scales which were designed to evaluate television content. These scales include viewer’s interest, viewing intention, popularity, attractiveness of characters, richness of production cost, and so on.\nFirst, we revealed the difference of a trend in evaluation between broadcasters. Content of terrestrial broadcasting was more likely to be evaluated favorably. Secondly, the data examined with 17 rating scales was analyzed by covariance structure analysis, and results structural equation modeling showed some effective factors for viewing intention. Thirdly, we analyzed the difference of evaluation by using coding data as independent variables, and also analyzed effective factors for evaluation by multiple regression analysis.
