This study note aims to investigate and find issues to afford sustainable development in advanced cities, such as Stockholm, Sweden. Stockholm is the city where the united Nations Conference on the Human Environment (UNCHE) in 1972, thus she subjects sustainable development since after the conference. Findings are 1) Simple and accessible method of waste recycling for every citizen, 2) Effi cient management of regional air conditioning system combined with waste treatment plant, 3) Thorough eco-labeling system for accommodation and food material, 4) Ecotourism promotion and ecotour labeling, 5) Introduce and promote carbon neutral traffi c system, such as electric car and bicycle. The study clarify that some tips of Stockholm model are applicable for cities in japan, but some are not.
