Information Studies research in-volved a student practicum in area studies in the city of Kamakura, followed by student de-velopment of web pages. The functional utility of this exercise as an instructional tool, still under evaluation, is based upon student evaluations and visitor response to the web sites (see, for example, http:/www.shonan.bunkyo.ac.jp/-ippei/student/kumazawa/) In language studies, a theoretical review, of English language laboratory and computer assisted instruc-tional (CAI) methods suggests the need for integrated expansion of computer assisted lan-guage learning (CALL) systems. For Japanese language studies, two sets of CAI programs for classroom study were tested and their suitability evaluated by post-use interviews. The potential for multimedia and hypertext in Physical Education, a completely new ap-plication, was explored and key concepts formulated for software now under development to be used in compact disc or computer-based physical education media. Our joint Project, reflecting research efforts from several fields, is unified by a common vision of the need for educational reform and represents the leading edge of educational concerns in the respec-tive academic areas. We plan to continue evaluation of research findings in light of ongoing developments in information science and internationalization while further refining instructional and research methodology by classroom experience and practicum.}, pages = {121--137}, title = {マルチメディア環境と大学教育}, volume = {7}, year = {} }
