| 内容記述 | Over ten years have passed since the foundation of the Faculty of International Studies at Bunkyo University. The fact that I am one of the "Charter Members" has prompted me to write about my memories of the past as well as prospects for the future. The editor believes that I am well qualified for the job, as I have been deeply involved in the management of the faculty, as dean for four years and vice president for more than three years. I want to divide the past ten years into three phases: the first when everybody was wholeheartedly eager to develop a new tradition, the second when the effort was suddenly interrupted by what is called "the Education Ministry problems," and finally the third when we succeeded in almost overcoming the revenue gap between the income and the expenses by revising the faculty following the new trend of the times. Although we are rather behind others because of the above-mentioned problems, we do not need to be very pessimistic about the future. On the contrary, the IT age gives us a god-sent chance to take others over, as long as we have a good strategy suitable to the requirements of the new age under the new leadership of Prof. Wakabayashi, expert of IT. |
