 note = {In this paper, I attempt to give a full description of echo-question in Japanese. It has been pointed out that echo-question in Japanese is used to ask a question. But sentences like "Matsubusi?" and "Hito ga iru?" appear in situations when one talks to oneself.
When the speaker feels that there is opposition among assumptions and situations, it occurs that he cannot make an entry into assumptions. When the speaker feels it, he express sentences like "Matsubusi?". Echo-questions belong to such a question category.},
