Especially in the medical industry, it attracts people’s attention recent years. According to the report by GIA(Global Industry Analysts, Inc.)(November, 2011), the global market for 3D medical imaging is forecasted to reach about US$ 6 billion by the year 2017. 3D imaging technology is a kind of core technology for supply advanced integrated solution in medical industry. It can make faster and accurate diagnosis possible. This in turn helps in achieving higher success rates through better treatment outcomes. In addition, it also increases the effi ciency of medical resource by improving patient throughput.\n3D printers have been a pretty hot topic in the past years. US President Obama said on 12, Feb. 2013 that the burgeoning field of 3D printing got a big boost highlighted it as something that could fuel new high-tech jobs in the United States and emphasized the importance of 3D printing as a part of national strategy. 3D printing has become a hot rend because it can be broadly used in bone setting surgery, dental treatment, operation, etc. The large scale electronics companies, such as GE, Siemens, Phillips, Toshiba, Sony, Panasonic, have been actively promoting the 3D business in medical industry.\nThis paper tries to explore the market and technical trend of 3D imaging technology of China through comparing with it of Japan. It points out that the new medical reform of China created many business chances.
