Student's judgment of career selection involves\nthinking about himself followed by considering others and organizations as well as societal norms and\nrules. In this respect, research on career selection requires not only investigating the self but also\nexamining a relationship between the self and the other, that between the self and the organization,\nand a consistency between the self's behaviors and societal customs and regulations. From this notion,\nsuch analyses entail importantly investigating egoism, altruism, collectivism, and principlism in\nrelation to career selection. Thus, this study pays much attention to those four values or motivations\nthat Charles Daniel Batson, a preeminent social psychologist, proposed in his book “Altruism in\nHumans”. In the present study, it is assumed that students are required to restructure their cognitive\nschema with regard to their own career when determining a career choice at a grade early stage during\nschool life. In this occasion, it is thought that students must judge career selection by using their values\nin order to resolve an indecisive and uncertain situation of their career selection in which they often\nface.
