 note = {This paper examines the relationship between tourism culture and tourism representations in the influential Taiwan travel guide books written in the Japanese language, focusing on Dihua Street located in the Dadaocheng area of Taipei City. This old street has much historic architecture of different construction dates as cultural heritage, and today this street has become a popular tourist spot in Taiwan. The reason is that the local authorities and the inhabitants have preserved the historical environment and nostalgic atmosphere of this area, while at the same time has enhanced attractive features through the renovation of old buildings. I analyze the usage of the term "retro" and its tourism discourse, and clarify how it has influenced tourist activities and cultural productions.},
