In this paper, the methods by which early-stage TV documentaries acquired their \"expressions\" were investigated through an interview with director and producer Hisao Suzuki, who produced a notable TV program of this era, Dokyumentariī-seisyun (Documentary of Youth), highlighting the aspects that could provide suggestions on how to break the deadlock of TV expressions in recent years.
