In functional organizations, telework may inhibit the close communication that organizations in this format are usually known for in regular working situations. In multidivisional organizations, telework can reduce the gap between the sense of distance in terms of communication within and outside of a business division. Consequently, the barriers between divisions may be lowered, which has advantages and disadvantages. In matrix organizations, due to telework, the use of electronic communication mediums allow employees to simultaneously exist in organization structures for both function and the specific business, which is physically impossible for employees working in the office. Utilizing both function and business is the original purpose of matrix organizations, however the purpose is not always realized since some employees are over-committed to one organization, which has been an unavoidable disadvantage of matrix organizations. Telework can help eliminate the disadvantage, and at the same time, adjustments between function and business are likely to be more intellectual. In flat organizations, electronic communication further reduces the spatial and physical restrictions which are inevitably accompanied by communication. Therefore, those who communicate can only communicate with specific people that they objectively select without being affected by distance with regards to space. As a result, communication channels increasingly become uneven and certain close communication groups end up being created. More advanced network organizations are suitable for telework, but on the other hand, network organizations are laden with risk wherein the strength of internal communication possessed by Japanese companies can be destroyed.}, pages = {65--79}, title = {組織形態とテレワークのコミュニケーション ―コロナの時代におけるコミュニケーションの課題―}, volume = {25}, year = {} }
