In this article she reconsidered the indeterminacy problem between what actually happened and its sociological description. This problem was discovered when Smith and her colleague Nancy Jackson were involved in a research project of the social organization of news in a newspaper. In the course of research, they found that news was to be seen as an organizational accomplishment and as far from a simple relation to the events it claimed to represent. At the same time, Smith realized that this problematic of her research became a problem for her own research work. The very status of sociological description in her own work should be reconsidered. Based on the discussion of ethnomethodology, Marx and Wittgenstein, she formulates an alternative way of thinking of the problem of sociological description. From the view of language-game theory, the indeterminacy problem would come up from the confusion of the practices of one language-game with those of another language-game. Smith suggested that we could take an alternative way of sociological investigation which explores how these practices of different types of language-games are related. Following her argument, this paper considers an alternative descriptive strategy which makes use of the language of everyday life as the basis for different sociological description.}, pages = {89--104}, title = {社会学的記述における二重の関係について ─ドロシー・スミスに依拠して─}, volume = {31}, year = {} }
