| 内容記述 | In this paper, we considered Kunio Kishida’s newspaper novels in pre-war Showa period. Known as a playwriter, he began writing newspaper novels in 1929. After that, he stopped producing dramas, and a strange blank period came. However, in the meantime, he continued to write newspaper novels. In this paper, we set this as a question. On top of that, reading and interpreting Kishida’s newspaper novels will lead to clarifying the meaning of his blank period, and also what he aimed for in newspaper novels. This paper discusses his nine newspaper novels, including “YURI HATAE” (1929-30). With regard to these newspaper novels, we referred to previous research, and examined the paratexts at the start of the series, the contemporaries, the status of Kunio Kishida, the issues in the evaluation of works, and historical significance, etc. |
