I would argue that diversity in people’s cultural dress is a good thing and that people should be able to express themselves without regulation by the government. In this article, I do not argue either point but only describe my profound surprise. Japanese living in Denmark do not seem to be very surprised by this topic.\nFrom the perspective of cultural competence, the following three points of the Danish position should be examined.\n1 Cultural competence is often referred to when trying to understand other cultures. However, a solid look at the dominant culture and its structure of repression must also be done. However, a deep awareness of the structure of repression in mainstream culture is also required.\n2 There are instances where the concept of “do no harm” and “respect for diversity” are in conflict. This is especially true for women who wear the niqab. For example, democratic societies value diversity but if they do not tolerate the niqab, how realistic is that diversity? Certainly, some women are forced to wear it, others choose to remove it, and others also dare to put it on. More factual research needs to be done on this topic.\n3 There are sometimes strongly conflicting values and beliefs between the practitioner, the client, and the client’s culture they are trying to engage with. If the practitioner has firmly rooted beliefs and values themselves, the practitioner should consider the above points and be mindful of his or her responsibility in such situations while taking into the client’s dilemma into consideration.","subitem_description_type":"Abstract"}]},"item_5_identifier_registration":{"attribute_name":"ID登録","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_identifier_reg_text":"10.15034/00007964","subitem_identifier_reg_type":"JaLC"}]},"item_5_source_id_19":{"attribute_name":"ISSN","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_source_identifier":"03882152"}]},"item_5_text_39":{"attribute_name":"本文言語","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_text_value":"日本語"}]},"item_5_text_42":{"attribute_name":"ID","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_text_value":"BKK0004204"}]},"item_5_text_7":{"attribute_name":"Author","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_text_value":"Hoshino, Haruhiko"}]},"item_5_text_8":{"attribute_name":"所属機関","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_text_value":"文教大学人間科学部"}]},"item_5_text_9":{"attribute_name":"Institution","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_text_value":"Bunkyo University, Faculty of Human Sciences"}]},"item_5_version_type_35":{"attribute_name":"著者版フラグ","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_version_type":"VoR"}]},"item_creator":{"attribute_name":"著者","attribute_type":"creator","attribute_value_mlt":[{"creatorAffiliations":[{"affiliationNameIdentifiers":[{"affiliationNameIdentifier":""}],"affiliationNames":[{},{}]}],"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"星野, 晴彦"},{"creatorName":"ホシノ, ハルヒコ"},{"creatorName":"Hoshino, Haruhiko"}],"familyNames":[{},{},{}],"givenNames":[{},{},{}],"nameIdentifiers":[{},{}]}]},"item_files":{"attribute_name":"ファイル情報","attribute_type":"file","attribute_value_mlt":[{"accessrole":"open_date","date":[{"dateType":"Available","dateValue":"2022-07-09"}],"displaytype":"detail","filename":"BKK0004204.pdf","filesize":[{"value":"554.4 kB"}],"format":"application/pdf","licensetype":"license_note","mimetype":"application/pdf","url":{"label":"BKK0004204.pdf","url":"https://bunkyo.repo.nii.ac.jp/record/7987/files/BKK0004204.pdf"},"version_id":"7f365547-a51c-4358-b4a9-2e34815743ce"}]},"item_keyword":{"attribute_name":"キーワード","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_subject":"ニカブ"},{"subitem_subject":"カルチュラル・コンピテンス"},{"subitem_subject":"デンマーク"},{"subitem_subject":"ソーシャルワーク"},{"subitem_subject":"niqab"},{"subitem_subject":"cultural competence"},{"subitem_subject":"Denmark"},{"subitem_subject":"social work"}]},"item_language":{"attribute_name":"言語","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_language":"jpn"}]},"item_resource_type":{"attribute_name":"資源タイプ","attribute_value_mlt":[{"resourcetype":"departmental bulletin paper","resourceuri":"http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_6501"}]},"item_title":"ニカブの禁止に関する検討:カルチュラル・コンピテンスの視点から","item_titles":{"attribute_name":"タイトル","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_title":"ニカブの禁止に関する検討:カルチュラル・コンピテンスの視点から"},{"subitem_title":"Examining a ban on the niqab: From the perspective of cultural competence"}]},"item_type_id":"5","owner":"3","path":["894"],"pubdate":{"attribute_name":"公開日","attribute_value":"2022-07-09"},"publish_date":"2022-07-09","publish_status":"0","recid":"7987","relation_version_is_last":true,"title":["ニカブの禁止に関する検討:カルチュラル・コンピテンスの視点から"],"weko_creator_id":"3","weko_shared_id":3},"updated":"2024-04-05T09:18:10.851572+00:00"}
