 note = {This paper analyzes the representation of the volcanic neck in Kenji Miyazawa’s work. The target work is the poem Hukei to Orugoru. The method is to perform geological verification and then apply psychiatric approach. We conclude that the rock neck in the poem Hukei to Orugoru is not a volcanic neck in the geological sense, but a representation of past experiences in the mind of Kenji Miyazawa. We analyze it from the perspective of dissociative disorder in psychiatry, and assume that Iwakubi is adhering to the nation of “I as a seeing being.” The poem Hukei to Orugoru demonstrates that it is a dialogue with oneself and a battle with oneself.},
