| 内容記述 | A female client, who had suffered from atopic dermatitis since she was a baby, was hospitalized in a mental hospital. I practised psychotherapy on her during hospitalization and as an out-patient after discharge. I also saw her mother during these times. This paper reports the treatment process of the woman. Her condition was considered severe enough to be diagnosed as schizophrenia by a doctor at the time of admission. Dramatic regression to infancy took place during the treatment process, whereby her atopic dermatitis was completely cured. The process was analyzed mainly from the mother-daughter relatinship, such as the liberation from co-dependency and the issue of death and rebirth. It also touched upon the relationship between atopic dermatitis and mysophobia. This case showed a woman struggling to rediscover her sense of self and gain her independence, and it also provided many implications concerning the mother-daughter and mind-body relationships. |
