The results showed that about 55 percent of the Kanto drivers blink hazard lamps to express their gratitude to other drivers and about 30 percent of them use hazard lamp blinking as a greeting to others. Analyses on the drivers' attributes (e.g., sex, age, frequency of car-driving and frequency of highway use) indicate that most frequent users of hazard lamp blinking as their way of gratitude expression and a greeting are drivers with extensive driving experience including highway use. In addition, drivers residing in the Shikoku area were found to be less likely to blink hazard lamps to express gratitude or give a greeting than those in the Kanto area. The possibility of traffic accidents resulting from misunderstanding of the meaning of hazard lamp blinking was discussed.}, pages = {65--71}, title = {自動車の非常点滅灯を用いたお礼・挨拶行動-予備的報告 : 関東地域における1994年段階調査を中心に}, volume = {17}, year = {} }
