抄録
This study examined the occurrence of in-group serving attribution in a real-world setting and the influence of patriotism on the attribution. Ninety-seven Japanese female college students completed a questionnaire. The questionnaire included three scales; an attribution scale for the results of Japanese and Korean team performances in the 2002 World Cup Soccer games, an impressions rating scale on Japanese and Korean, and a patriotism scale. In-group serving attribution was higher for high patriotism participants than low patriotism participants. In-group serving attribution correlated positively with impressions of Japanese and negatively with impressions of Korean. In-group serving attribution and the influence of patriotism on the attribution were discussed.
