| 内容記述 | This study examines ESL learners' oral narratives in order to clarify their narrative abilities. 20 learners of English and 5 native English speakers were asked to tell a story in English, based on a picture storybook , Frog, where are you? (Mayer, 1969). Their speech data were transcribed and analyzed in terms of their narrative construction and how topic was introduced and maintained in their story tellings. Results show that the learners had difficulty in describing background and evaluation of the story as well as in the use of full noun phrases vs. pronouns in referring to the topic. | |||||||||
