| 内容記述 | This paper studies, on a comparative basis, various forms of personal spiritual "awakening", such as "beatific vision," that have occurred to followers of Buddhism , Shinto, Christianity and Yoga etc., from the beginning of modern history through the contemporary days. The sources, are ten persons, whose experiences are recorded in the form of personal accounts or their own books. The author's main interest throughout the whole study has been (1) the process of those experiences having been verbalized, (2) the manner in which the concept of "god" in the broad sense of the term has emerged in each case and (3) the nature of relationship between such experiences and Japanese religious traditions. |
